South lincs Steelers squad headed to Lincoln for the last round of matches in the Lincolnshire FA Walking football championship
knowing 3 wins would guarantee top spot, Steelers went on the front foot in the 1st game vs Gainsborough. But try as they may, Gainsborough proved a stubborn opponent and their keeper dealt with everything that came his way, making some fine save’s particularly from Mick’s efforts. It finished 0-0 and we learnt that Sleaford had won their first game, would get the 3 points in their 2nd game as Lincoln hadn’t turned up, so they would be League winners whatever we did thereafter. A 3-1 win against Long Bennington followed with smart goals from Mark, Steve H & Ali.
Finally, a tight game against Sleaford finishing in a 2-0 loss. Congratulations to Sleaford.
